Josie Ruth

ORAL HEALTH THERAPIST Bsc (OHT) WA

Josie began her career in the dental industry as a dental assistant in 2008. She quickly learned that she had a love for dentistry and after years of working as a dental assistant, she continued her passion by studying a Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy at Curtin University in Perth, WA. Since graduating in 2014, Josie has worked primarily with children, but also loves having a good chat with (and treating) her adult patients.

As an oral health therapist, Josie specialises in restorative treatment (such as fillings) for children 18 years and under and has a focus on preventive dentistry and oral health education. Josie enjoys making dentistry fun and enjoyable for children and puts them at ease from their very first visit. Due to her caring and patient nature, you can be assured that your child will be given the upmost attention and care by Josie.

After calling Perth home for 12 years, Josie, her husband and their beloved dog are happy to now be Melbournians and part of the bc dental team.


Christine Ciar

ORAL THERAPIST BA OHT NSW

Christine graduated from Charles Sturt University in NSW where she worked in rural and remote areas providing dental care to adults and children.

Having worked as a dental assistant for 10 years prior to graduating from her Bachelor of Oral Health, Christine is passionate about all things dental and was awarded with the Oral Health Therapists Association Outstanding Professionalism for her achievements.

She takes a special interest in orthodontics, particularly Invisalign, and is also registered with The Australian Association of Orofacial Myology.

As a clinician, Christine is a strong believer of oral health as an integral part of overall health and believes in holistic approaches to improving dental health outcomes. Her gentle nature also makes her great in putting nervous patients at ease!

Christine’s passion for health and wellbeing doesn’t just end with oral health or her patients, having completed her certificate in fitness many years ago, Christine loves to train in the gym and occasionally teaches fitness classes in her spare time, and over the years has competed in fitness competitions!

Emma Walton

DENTAL HYGIENIST ADV DIP DENTAL HYG SA

It was in her job as a dental assistant, working one-on-one with dental hygienists, that Emma realised Dental Hygiene was her passion. The young Emma Reid studied Dental Hygiene at Gilles Plains TAFE in South Australia graduating in 2010 where she also met her now husband.

The pair decided to relocate to Melbourne in 2011. Emma and Luke married at Werribee Mansion in 2014 (now Emma Walton) and are now settled in Seaford raising their beautiful son Harvey and enjoying the Bayside lifestyle.

After more than a decade in the dental industry Emma continues to grow her passion with a particular interest in helping patients overcome fears and feeling comfortable. “There’s nothing more rewarding than having a patient look forward to seeing me” says Emma. 

Emma enjoys travelling, and with a young family is looking forward to more Australian road trips. So if you have any suggestions for great family friendly destinations be sure to share them with Emma at your next visit.


Katrina Tran-Curie

DENTAL HYGIENIST DIP. OH MELB

Specialising in periodontics, Katrina has more than 20 years experience in dental. Previously operating her own practice in Cheltenham, which included all facets of dentistry, Katrina has worked with patients of all ages and maintains a holistic approach. Katrina is at the top of her game working at BC Dental as a hygienist.

While away from the busy practice, Katrina enjoys taking time out to maintaining a new garden which complements new techniques unravelled in the kitchen.
